Olivia Benesch, Program Director
Olivia Benesch is the Program Director of Gilead House. She spent her childhood on the North Shore of Massachusetts, and received her B.S. in Psychology from Union College in Schenectady, New York. During college she interned at a locked juvenile facility and developed and implemented an art therapy program for residents. She conducted research on maternal stress for her honors thesis, and presented her results at the Western Psychology Association’s conference in 2015.
Olivia enjoys traveling and working with vulnerable populations; she spent a term abroad in urban Vietnam where she taught dance to children and studied photography, and worked in Israel as an English teacher for elementary students. In California, she has provided case management and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, and facilitated successful residential placements for over 60 medically and behaviorally fragile clients.
Olivia has a passion for painting and hiking and can often be found meandering in the Marin Headlands. She looks forward to collaboratively developing support plans with Gilead families, and implementing an enriching curriculum.
